Grande Prairie RCMP are trying to locate two suspects who assaulted two male teenagers and stole their blue 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Grande Prairie Rural RCMP responded at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

A white Ford F150 truck had approached the youths, who were parked south of Grande Prairie at kilometre 17.5 of Canfor Road. Two suspects then exited the truck and approached the vehicle with what appeared to be firearms.

After threatening and physically assaulting the teenagers, the suspects stole the vehicle and fled the scene. The suspects were described as Indigenous males with slim builds.

A passing vehicle then picked up the teenagers and brought them to safety. Both of them suffered injuries from the assault and were admitted to the hospital.

Update: Both vehicles have been located with assistance from the public. Police are continuing their investigation and still attempting to locate the suspects involved.
