UPDATE: The error has been corrected. Telus and Koodo mobility calls are operating normally now.

Telus and Koodo Mobility customers in Alberta are having their 911 calls incorrectly routed to Saskatchewan 911.

No other cellular calling functionality has been affected.

“Your 911 call will still be answered, Saskatchewan 911 will transfer your call to the appropriate resources as quickly as possible,” a city release stated.

Although customers can still call 911 on their cells, they are encouraged to use a landline to reduce the number of transfers.

Telus is currently working on resolving the issue but was unable to provide an estimated time of repair.

Questions about the routing issue can be directed to the City of Grande Prairie Fire Department at 780-538-0393.
